Are you on a tour to Diani Beach at the coast and you find yourself with little to do after savouring the white beaches?
We can arrange for a game drive to the Shimba Hills National Reserve, the Sheldrick Waterfalls and the Shimba Hills Lodge.
The National reserve hosts a rain forest which is one of the largest coastal rain forests in East Africa with indigenous trees.
It is also a home to breeding herd of indigenous Sable Antelopes. These rare antelopes are can be found in the reserve. The Sable Antelopes are most active in the morning and late afternoon. They can defend themselves when faced with danger.
The male Sable which is normally larger than the female and darker in colour, marks it’s territory. The gestation period is 9 months and they give birth to one calf at a time. The young Sable weans at 8 months and they take 2-3 years to mature.
Simba Hills Lodge is located at the heart of the coastal rainforest. The award winning lodge, constructed in 1986, is the only tree lodge near the coast. The lodge has a spacious verandah overlooking a waterhole allowing visitors the privilege of interacting with nature as they enjoy their meals.
Visitors can have a private wildlife experience at the comfort of the lodge as you watch the white-headed fish eagles, hornbills, baboons, waterbucks, and many others, in their natural habitat.
Allow us to plan a day’s excursion for you from your beach hotel, as you enjoy your vacation.
The fee will include: transport to and from your beach hotel, park entrance fee and lunch at Shimba Hills Lodge.
