Lake Nakuru National Park, established in 1967 is unique in that it was the first of such conservation areas in Africa to be set aside for the preservation of bird life.
Lesser flamingos parade along the lake’s shores in mass displays of pink plumage. Apart from the bird life, the park also protects leopard, rhino, Rothschild giraffe, hippo and antelope. This beautiful shallow lake, situated 160 km South of Nairobi and few kilometers to the North of Nakuru town, is alkaline. Apart from flamingos and other bird species, the park is also home Rothschild giraffe, Zebra, Grant’s Gazelle, eland, Buffalo, Lion and Hippo. The park is reputed to be the best National Park in Kenya to view leopard.
0600 hours: Pick up from your Nairobi hotel by our driver, and drive through the Naivasha-Nakuru highway making a brief stop at view point to have a magnificent view of the Great Rift Valley.
1000 hours: Begin a 2-3 hours game drive, after which you enjoy a buffet lunch at the Sarova Lions Hill Lodge or in one of the prestigious lodges in the park.
Relax or take a swim in the lodge’s swimming pool.
1700 hours: Depart to Nairobi. You will be dropped back to your hotel.
