Mt. Kenya is the country’s highest mountain and rises abruptly from the Central Highlands to a summit of 5199m (17,058 ft). It is also the second highest mountain in Africa after Mt. Kilimanjaro. The mountain has three peaks, Batian, which is the highest, Nelion and Lenana. Batian and Nelion have been summited and they are for technical climbers. Lenana. The highest peak that can be ascended without rock climbing is point Lenana at 4985m (16,355 ft). Batian 5199m, Nelion 5188m can only be ascended by technical climbers.
The three main climbing routes up to the main peaks, are Sirimon, Chogoria and Naromoru.

Things that you need to carry include; Sleeping bag, Water proof jacket and pants(trousers), Hiking boots, Handglooves, Warm clothing, t-shirts at least 5, Extra sport shoes, Warm fleece, Hat, Thermal suit, Getter, Wet wipes and Hiking stick.
