Departing from Nairobi, this 6 day Masai mara and Lake Nakuru safari takes you to a majestic tour down and up into the Great rift valley and into the Loita plains of the masai people. Explore two of Kenya’s premier national game parks- Masai mara and Lake Nakuru National Parks on exciting game viewing drives in a five day adventure trip. This luxury safari of game drive in the world famous Masai mara, home to over 3 million animals and the great annual wildebeest migration that involves over 500,000 wildebeests, quarter a million zebras and gazelles. Lake Nakuru is also an important bird sanctuary known for its more than 1 million flamingos and hundreds of other birds. The Nakuru park is also a sanctuary for rhinos and Rothschild giraffes.

Tour Plan

Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru –Kenya
Our guide/driver will pick you up from your hotel at 800 hrs and drive you along the Nakuru-Naivasha highway towards Nakuru.  After Limuru, the escarpment becomes visible, and along the way there are various view-points where we can stop and have a spectacular view of the escarpment.  We drive on to arrive at the Lions Hill Lodge or any other hotel at the Lake in time for lunch.  Guests can relax at the lodge and enjoy an evening drive to the lake to have a pink of view of lake Nakuru due to the presence of the many flamingoes at the lake.  It is a sight to behold.  You will also have a chance of viewing some wildlife including leopard, buffalo, elephants and many others as you drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Nakuru – Mara
After breakfast leave Nakuru at 800 hrs to Masai Mara, through Naivasha then Maimahiu and drive through Narok road to arrive in time for lunch at Mara Sarova.  Guests can relax and enjoy swimming and other indoor activities like table tennis, pool or chess after which they can have dinner.  Later they can enjoy entertainment by the Maasai morans around a camp fire before retiring to bed.

Day 3: Mara
Early morning breakfast and later enjoy a whole day game drive in the Masai Mara.  Guests will have a picnic lunch in the park and they can drive to the Mara river track the wildlife migration, if the season is on, or have a view of the migration spot, if it’s off season.  Enjoy a picnic lunch within the Mara Savanna, and later return to the hotel in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Mara – Lake Naivasha
After breakfast guests leave Mara at 800 hours to arrive at the Naivasha Sopa Lodge in time for lunch.  Guests can enjoy swimming as they relax or take a boat ride at the fresh water lake.  Later, you can enjoy dinner and retire to bed.

Day 5: Lake Naivasha – HellsGate
After morning breakfast, leave for HellsGate, where you will trek the gorges and have a view of  the devil’s bedroom.  Experience the hotsprings coming from the rocks at the gorges and have a thrill of trekking the gorges uphill.  Return to the lodge in time for lunch.  After lunch enjoy swimming or have an option of riding a boat into the lake for one hour at an extra cost.  Later, enjoy dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Lake Naivasha – Nairobi
Have a relaxed breakfast and later drive to Nairobi, where you will be dropped at your hotel in the capital city or at the Airport to catch a flight back.
